Two mine tailings are evaluated for their potential as supplementary cementitious materials. The were milled using two different methods – ball milling 30 minutes and disc durations ranging from 1 to 15 minutes. modified R3 test was carried out on the quantify reactivity. reactivity of is greater than those tailings. Strong correlations obtained between duration, median particle size, amorphous content, dissolved aluminum silicon, energy results in an increase fineness which do not appreciably beyond a duration 8 increases significantly certain threshold content. Cementitious pastes prepared at 30% materials replacement level water-to-cementitious ratio 0.40.
